HISTORY: The Paraguay Flag, measuring 10 x 16cm. Serves as a powerful symbol of the country’s history, identity, and aspirations. Adopted on November 25, 1842. The flag reflects Paraguay’s struggle for independence and its commitment to sovereignty.
The design of the Paraguay Flag is characterised by three horizontal stripes of equal width. The outer stripes, coloured red, represent courage and patriotism. These vibrant red hues pay homage to the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes during times of war and conflict. The middle stripe, coloured white, signifies purity and peace. Representing Paraguay’s commitment to unity and stability.
Emblazoned in the centre of the white stripe is the national emblem—a blue disc featuring the Treasury Seal. The seal includes a golden-yellow five-pointed star. A symbol of the country’s independence and freedom. Surrounding the star are the words “Republica del Paraguay,” emphasising the nation’s republican form of government.
