HISTORY: The flag of Ukraine, also known as the “Yellow-Blue Flag” or “Yellow-Blue Banner.” Is a simple yet powerful symbol of the nation’s history, identity, and aspirations. Adopted on January 28, 1992. The flag represents the independent and sovereign state of Ukraine.
The flag consists of two horizontal bands of equal width. With the upper band being blue and the lower band being yellow. The blue colour is with the sky and represents the spirit and perseverance of the Ukrainian people. The yellow colour symbolises the country’s golden fields and the wealth of its land.
The combination of blue and yellow on the Ukrainian flag dates back to medieval times and has been a consistent symbol throughout the country’s history. During the period of the Ukrainian National Republic (1917-1920). This combination was officially adopted. And it has remained a key element of the national identity.
