HISTORY: The flag of Armenia is a meaningful representation of the country’s history, culture, and national identity. Adopted on August 24, 1990. The flag is made of colourfast treated polyester material and measures 60 x 90cm. Its design consists of three horizontal bands of red, blue, and orange.
The red band at the top symbolises the Armenian Highlands and the struggle by Armenians in their struggle for independence and survival throughout history. It represents the determination and resilience of the Armenian people.
The blue band in the middle represents the Armenian people’s aspiration for peace and the sky above the nation. It also signifies hope and stability for the country’s future.
The orange band at the bottom symbolizes the fertile lands of Armenia and the courage and hard work of its people. It represents the country’s agricultural wealth and the warmth and hospitality of the Armenian people.
Displaying the flag of Armenia is a proud expression of national identity and solidarity, whether at government institutions, during national events, or by individuals celebrating their Armenian heritage.
