The flag, made of colourfast treated polyester material and measuring 60 x 90cm. Consists of a red field with a black, two-headed eagle in the centre.
The red background of the flag is a symbol of bravery, strength. The struggle by Albanian heroes in defence of their country throughout history. The black, double-headed eagle is a centuries-old national symbol representing sovereignty and the unity of the Albanian people. The eagle is said to trace its roots to Skanderbeg. The medieval Albanian hero who led a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire.
